We developed our Blue Ring Air Bearings specifically to obtain a frictionless motion between bearing and shaft. By providing compressed air to the bearing surface, it will start to float. The air film is strong enough to keep the bearing construction floating. This way, you can use the air bearings to move along a linear shaft or to keep the shaft rotating without mechanical contact. The minimum required air pressure is 4 bar, but when you increase the pressure up to 6 bar, higher loads can be allowed.

Blue Ring Air Bearings fit perfectly on standard industrial, linear shafts. To obtain the best achievable stiffness, use tolerance h6.
